The month of November in Finland is always the hardest for photographs, when all the colours seem to have disappeared and the darkness settles in. After several rainy days, I decided to embrace the bad weather and arranged a very wet portrait session — I even bought a transparent umbrella for the occasion.

Naturally I decided to call Riim — since every photowalk with her had been a success — and settled for one of my favourite locations where we could still find some greenery — oh how I love pine trees!

I am so happy with the way these photographs turned out, that I seriously had trouble selecting just a few: I can only hope November will bring more of this!

Lovely Susanna and Rob would like us to take their wedding photos next spring in Tuscany, so we had the incredible opportunity to take a weekend trip to check out the location — at the beginning of November.

I had not been to Tuscany in years and the beauty of the countryside already made it for a wonderful trip! On top of that, though, we also got to enjoy a taste of the delicious potential wedding menu and spend a night in the charming Casa Cornacchi country house — surrounded by cypress and olive trees.

Despite the busy schedule, I also got the chance to take a few test shots with Susanna and Rob: even though the sky was overcast and it started to rain, I am quite happy with the mood of these photos. Now I cannot wait for May and the actual wedding to take place!

I can't take any credit whatsoever for these beautiful portraits, since Jacopo was the one behind the camera this time. Though I really wanted to share these here and on Instagram because I really like them, don't you? I'm also very much into my new winter jacket by Samsøe & Samsøe, which is very warm and a perfect shade of green!

On a sunny Sunday afternoon I met Eeva for our second photowalk together. Back in June we found some beautiful lupins; this time around the colours and the light were very different, but beautiful nonetheless!

Eeva took me around the lovely neighbourhood of Lauttasaari — where she lives — and I had a very pleasant afternoon. Not to mention that I am very happy with the way the photographs have turned out: I think they capture the essence of autumn and I truly love Eeva's sense of style — that green pullover with golden details is to die for!

That Saturday we visited the national park of Sipoonkorpi for the first time. I truly wonder how come we had never been there before: not only the park is closer to Helsinki than Nuuksio, but also the landscape is a bit different and makes it for a lovely change of scenery. Even though that section of the park was mostly evergreen, I still managed to capture some autumn colours with my camera: I really loved the burnt orange ferns!

I met Vanessa for the first time in the summer, but this autumn photowalk gave me the chance to get to know her better and I feel we both liked the results more — I am truly glad we met a second time!

That afternoon the sky was overcast, but the leaves all around us were so colourful and perfectly matched Vanessa's pullover. The Lapinlahden sairaalan park is even more photogenic in the autumn time — definitely a new favourite location!

I met Sara on the first day of October. It was a very gloomy afternoon: the sky was getting darker by the minute and I had to go as high as 800 iso to get a decent shutter speed. Nevertheless, we found a very photogenic spot in the Arabia neighbourhood, in the outskirts of Helsinki: I truly like the contrast of the yellow flowers with the concrete building in the background. I do not often take portraits in urban areas, but it has happened already twice this autumn and I am starting to like it. What do you think of these?

Just a few photographs I took on the last day of September while walking somewhere in HelsinkiArabia and Töölönlahti to be precise. Autumn leaves, grey skies and birds flying away: a bit melancholy perhaps, but still worth sharing.

I got to meet Kristo at the end of September through Instagram and we instantly got along: not only he is extremely passionate about photography, but we share the same taste in music and we can even have long conversations in Italian — he has lived in Italy for 3 years and speaks the language really well!

I took these portraits during one of our photowalks around the city: the autumn colours in the neighbourhood of Töölö were beautiful and the evening light was perfect. Though Kristo is usually on the other side of the camera, I think he did an excellent job posing for me and I am really happy with the way these photographs turned out!
