12.02.2018 — Faroe Islands

I have finally had the opportunity to visit a place that had been in my bucket list since forever: Faroe Islands! We spent two incredible weeks based at a lovely AirBnB — a renovated boathouse nonetheless! — in the village of Hósvík and travelled all over the islands. Needless to say, I was blown away by the beauty of them!

For the occasion, we had contacted four lovely local girls to pose for our cameras — I really wanted to work with local people and do what I like the most, rather than focusing on landscape photography. That gave us the chance to connect with the Faroese people and culture way more deeply than we had ever done in Iceland or Norway, for instance.

I have loved our time in Faroe and have felt a special connection with the islands since the very moment we landed at Vágar airport. In the next few blogs, I am going to share with you a selection of the portraits I took, introduce you to the girls and tell you a bit more about this wonderful place in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. Hopefully, I will be able to express some of my love for "Farawww Nislands" — my pet name for Faroe — through my photos and also through my words!

Let me begin with these portraits that Jacopo and I took of each other: we are wearing Faroese knits by Navia — a local brand that we grew very fond of.
